The rules we dive by
Short, readable, and the same rules we enforce in the water. Full booking and cancellation terms publish together with the online booking system at launch.
Health & medical screening
Every certification course begins with the standard dive-industry medical questionnaire — the same protocol used across certified dive training worldwide. It exists to catch the small set of conditions a physician should clear before breath-hold training. If a question on the form flags something, we ask for a doctor's sign-off before you enter the water. This is not a formality; it is the sport's first safety layer.
Supervision & the buddy rule
Freediving NYC sessions are always supervised by a Molchanovs-certified instructor and run in small, tightly capped groups. Breath-hold training follows the one-up-one-down protocol: one diver on the surface, watching, for every diver underwater. From your first session you are trained as a safety diver first — supervision isn't something done to you; it's a skill you learn.
Training environment
All sessions run in the indoor pool at St. Bart's, 109 E 50th St — controlled water, controlled depth, year-round conditions. Freediving-specific training equipment is supplied for sessions. Sessions start on time; arrive ready to breathe.
Privacy
When you leave a request through this site, the details you type (name, email, what you're interested in) are stored to answer you — nothing more. We don't sell data, we don't run third-party ad trackers on this site, and we contact you about Freediving NYC programs only. Want your details removed? Ask once, and they're gone.
Booking & cancellation
Founding-list reservations require no payment. Paid booking terms — rescheduling, cancellations, refunds — publish with the online booking system at launch, stated plainly on the booking page before any payment is taken.
